![]() My hope is that I have created a compelling visual and visceral experience for those viewing my work. Using metaphor, narrative. and abstraction to explore my fascination with light, color, shape, and all of the many elements in the art vocabulary, I continue to push my work beyond the traditional into new and more personal territory. I find my inspiration in the natural and the socio cultural world in which we all live. Often I work from the half remembered world of my dreams and the many layered and deeply felt events of the current moment, as well as those in the all too sharply remembered past. These all come to the surface, both intellectually and emotionally, in my work, although the images presented may literally be pears, chairs, landscape or flowers. Content or subject matter change with time and experience, as do experimentation with media and process. The work is essentially about truth as I see it. However all of this resonates, the most important ingredient for me is the impulse that drives the creative force and results in the only real artist's statement, the work itself. |
